Hawker Hurricanes Captured by Germany
During the Second World War, Germany captured several Hawker Hurricane fighters. These were used for evaluation and as teaching aids for Luftwaffe pilots.
Hawker Hurricane Mk I V7670
Hawker Hurricane Mk I V7670 originally operated from Malta with No 261 Squadron. It was later transferred to North Africa where it was captured and repainted with Luftwaffe insignia in March 1941. In December 1941 it was re-captured and after an overhaul returned to RAF service with 208 Squadron.
