Located in the beautiful New South Wales town of Eden, Aslings Beach Rock Pool is situated next to spectacular white and pink cliffs. Built in 1961, it measures twenty-five by twenty metres in size and was originally around 1.3 metres deep when constructed, although sand build-up has impacted on this.
Getting There
Eden is 470km, or a six and a half hour drive from Sydney and 270km or a three and a half hour drive from Canberra. The pool is near the centre of town and parking is available on the adjacent road, although you may be lucky and find a park in the carpark opposite the beach. Access to the beach and pool is located opposite the carpark. From the access, a 400m walk south along the sand takes you to the rock pool. The beach itself is beautiful and worth a visit itself.
Aslings Beach Rock Pool
Originally known as the Eden Memorial Swimming Pool, the pool was dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives in service during WWII. Since its construction it has become a favourite for locals and visitors due to its beautiful setting. Originally a plaque dedicating the facility to local servicemen and women was fixed into the rocks. Unfortunately it is no longer there.
Although the beach is patrolled in summer, remember to swim between the flags. The foreshore above the beach has picnic tables, a skatepark, a sports ground, a shower and amenities.
