We stumbled on the Colbinabbin Silo art as we drove through the town on our way to Wodonga. Easily visible from the highway as you drive towards town it a good excuse to stop, take some pictures and then go to the local bakery for a mid-morning tea.

The murals depict the railway and its importance to the town when it was developing as a farming centre. Other murals show the local fire tender Lu Loo, the locals in their 1900s finery at the annual picnic and a jet powered tractor that attracted 20,000 people to the town when it was displayed.

The solos were painted by local artist Tim Bowtell during April and May 2020.

It is amazing. It’s great how a lot of small communities are doing this to attract visitors. It got us to stop in town and spend some money.

Some people are so clever. I just don’t know how they get the perspective right. Thanks for the beauty. Mel
