Heaven Clifftop Viewpoint

Perched high above the Murray River at Loxton, the Heaven Clifftop Viewpoint offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in South Australia’s Riverland. The lookout sits above Habel’s Bend, a sweeping curve of the river. From the viewing platform, visitors can gaze across the wide floodplain toward Katarapko Island in the Murray River National Park, where gum trees and reed beds can be seen. The viewpoint contrasts the tranquillity of the Murray with beauty of the surrounding cliffs and vegetation.

Access to Heaven Clifftop Viewpoint is easy from East Terrace or Pioneer Landing Drive, both just a short distance from Loxton’s town centre. Visitors can drive up the dirt access track or take the more scenic route on foot via the stairs from the river level at Habel’s Bend. The climb is moderately steep but rewards walkers with expanding views at each turn. Once at the top, there is a shaded seating area to relax in. The views from here over the Murray are amazing.

Not far from here are The Tree of Knowledge and the The Big Pelican.
