Blohm und Voss BV 141

The Blohm und Voss BV 141 was a tactical reconnaissance aircraft designed for the German Luftwaffe in the Second World War. It is notable for its uncommon structural asymmetry, designed to provide better vision for the crew. An initial batch of five Bv 141A-0s was found to be underpowered. An improved B series, with BMW 801 engines rectified this issue, however by this time the RLM had decided to place the Focke Wulf Fw 189 into production. The BMW 801 was also used to power the Fw 190 fighter, which had priority allocation which reduced the Bv 141’s chances of gaining a production order. Approximately 28 were built of all models.
