Dornier Do 26 Flying Boat

Dornier Do 26

The Dornier Do 26 flying boat was designed before World War Two for Deutsche Lufthansa, with a capacity of four passengers, or 500kg of freight. The first three aircraft produced were impressed into Luftwaffe service on the outbreak of World War Two, all three having armament added. An additional three were built by Dornier for the Luftwaffe.

Of the six aircraft, three were lost during the Norwegian campaign (V1, V2 and V3), with V5 later being lost in a catapult trial.
