Gloster E.1/44 Jet Fighter Prototype
Developed as a solution to a possible short fall in jet engine production, the Gloster E.1/44 was a single engine jet fighter, as opposed to the twin engined Gloster Meteor. The performance of prototypes was disappointing and production did not proceed past the three prototypes completed.
