Passing through mangroves Merimbula Boardwalk

Merimbula Boardwalk New South Wales

Running along the shore of Merimbula Lake, this boardwalk is a 4.2km return walk that passes through mangrove forests, under eucalyptus canopies and past oyster farms. The boardwalk is flat, so is an easy walk and suitable for wheelchairs.

We began from Lakewood Drive at the back of the lake but you can also park next to the bridge at the bottom of Market Street. Carparks are located at either end, but Lakewood Drive also has a kiosk and toilets. The walk was very easy, and we stopped along the way to take photos across the lake and of the mangroves and oyster farm. Near the carpark we found a shady seat where we ate lunch while enjoying the views. There are several seats and jetties along the boardwalk where you can stop, relax and enjoy the scenery.
