Van’s Aircraft RV-4 VH-NOJ
The Van’s Aircraft RV-4 was homebuilt by Australian pilot Jon Johanson, who began the project in 1989 and completed the aircraft in 1992. The museum preserves VH-NOJ as an example of ambitious amateur construction and long-distance capability in a sport aircraft. The aircraft’s true fame comes from Johanson’s extraordinary long-distance exploits. Flying VH-NOJ, he completed multiple round-the-world journeys and carried out record-setting flights, including being the first fixed-wing single-engine aircraft to fly over the South Pole.
