de Havilland Mosquito TR Mk 33

de Havilland Mosquito TR Mk 33

The de Havilland Sea Mosquito TR Mk 33 was a navalised version of the Mosquito FB. VI. It added  folding wings, arrester hook, thimble nose radome, Merlin 25 engines with four-bladed propellers and a new oleo-pneumatic landing gear rather than the standard rubber-in-compression gear. Armament included four 20mm cannon, while two 500lb bombs could be accommodated in the bomb bay with another under each wing. Alternately, four 60 lb rockets could be fitted under each wing. A torpedo could be fitted under the fuselage. A total of 50 were built, followed by six TR Mk. 37s, which had ASV Mk XIII radar instead of the TR.33’s AN/APS-6.
