Bairnsdale Street Art

Bairnsdale Street Art

On our resent trip (March 2025) to Victoria, we found some interesting street art in Bairnsdale. The best way to find it is to ask at the Visitor Information Centre. This is because the area is due to be redeveloped, so the art may be painted over.

Most of the murals below were behind the old Reject Shop or adjacent side streets. The wood carving depicting the local creation myth is on Nicholson Street near Bairnsdale’s Bakehouse. Although it’s not art, the Bairnsdale Courthouse is a nice old building and worth a look if you’re looking for murals in the area.

Street art is certainly beautifying many country towns nowadays. Where we live on the Mornington Peninsula there are some fabulous murals and sculptures. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos. Cheers, Mark

Thank you for reading. Pleased that you liked it. Street art is great at revitalising old areas. And it attracts visitors who might spend money there too.
